Reminder for using Wi-Fi on campus

ITS provides three wireless networks for campus. They are MWireless, MGuest, and eduroam. CAEN recommends using the MWireless network where possible. If you are having trouble connecting your wireless device, the CAEN Help Desk is available to help you as an additional option to calling ITS 4-HELP. The CAEN Help Desk is located at the Duderstadt Center room 1315.

MWireless connections are encrypted for security, and CAEN services will consider these connections as being on campus for access restriction purposes.

The wireless network MGuest is provided for University of Michigan visitors. MGuest connections are not encrypted, network speeds are limited, and CAEN services will consider these connections as being off campus for access restriction purposes.

The wireless network eduroam is a secured Wi-Fi network service that allows students, faculty, and staff, to use their home institution’s Wi-wFi credentials to access Wi-Fi network services when visiting other eduroam participating institutions. eduroam connections are encrypted, and CAEN services will consider these connections as being off campus for access restriction purposes.
