Zoom now has an AI Companion tool that can summarize meetings. If activated, the tool will monitor what people say during a meeting, and generate a summary of the meeting which can later be shared with those who attended the meeting.
If you are interested in using the Zoom AI Companion, please review these important notes and recommendations:
- Your Zoom settings have been configured to NOT automatically start the AI Companion. Only meeting hosts can manage AI settings for the meetings they host.
- Ask meeting participants if they are ok with using the AI Companion before turning it on. Some individuals may prefer that you do not use it.
- Your initial settings are configured to have the meeting summary be shared only with the meeting host. You should review and edit the summary before sending it to the meeting participants, as the summary may pick up extra conversation at the beginning or end of the meeting that shouldn’t be included or may even get some of the information incorrect. It is best practice to not have the AI Companion send out the summary to all individuals at the end of the meeting without this review step.
