T1V ThinkHub interactive displays available in select Engineering classrooms

In partnership, the University of Michigan College of Engineering’s office of the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education (ADUE), CAEN, CRLT-Engin, and Mosaic have identified the need for classroom technology that integrates the best technological capabilities of remote teaching into the physical classroom, enhancing both remote and in-person instruction. T1V ThinkHubs are sophisticated interactive display systems that will be piloted in select CoE-supported classrooms during the Winter 2022 term:

Building Room Display Type Installation Status
Beyster 1070 55″ podium Ready for use
Chrysler 133 86″ upright Mid-January installation
Dow 1006 86″ upright Ready for use
Duderstadt 3358 86″ upright Mid-January installation
EECS 1311 55″ podium Ready for use
FMCRB 1060 55″ podium Ready for use
GG Brown 2505 55″ podium Ready for use
LEC 1210 86″ upright Ready for use

In their simplest form, interactive displays are electronic whiteboards that allow annotation of visual content during class, and that content can be saved for later use and distribution. The displays’ more active functionality allows instructors to open web browsers, launch Zoom Meetings, and feature and modify multiple PDFs, all at one time. Both in-person and remote users can upload and download content and manipulate the content on the screen.

Traditional equipment in these designated classrooms, such as Zoom PCs and projectors/displays, will remain available and work the same as before.

The teams in the office of the ADUE, CAEN, CRLT-Engin, and Mosaic hope that these displays will enhance the in-person teaching experience.
