New auto-detection of whiteboard use in CAEN Lecture Recording

The whiteboard feature within CAEN’s Lecture Recording Service has been upgraded to automatically detect when it is used during recorded lectures, then automatically show or hide the image as appropriate. This enhancement simplifies the process for instructors by removing the need to manually enable the setting or adjust the makeup of a specific Lecture Recording to hide the whiteboard.

When whiteboard use is detected, the image will be visible by default in the Lecture Recording player, removing the need for viewers to hide it when not used. If whiteboard use is not detected, but the lecturer references something written on it, the viewer will still have the ability to turn the image on if they want to see it.

This feature enhances accessibility and simplifies the process for the instructional team, particularly in courses with multiple instructors or mixed use of whiteboards. Instructors still have the flexibility to adjust whiteboard settings for individual recordings or request that whiteboard capture be disabled for their site in general.
