Beginning July 2024, Lecture Recording sites within the CAEN Lecture Recording system will have expiration dates. All sites will be available to the owners and managers for at least one year after the term has ended. No site will be removed before September 2025. At that time, any Lecture Recording site from a term that ended more than 12 months prior will expire from the system.
For example, a Fall 2023 Lecture Recording site would remain accessible throughout the Fall 2024 term before expiring at the end of September 2025; a Spring 2024 Lecture Recording site would similarly be available throughout the Spring 2025 term, then expire in September 2025.
When instructors visit their My Sites page, the site expiration date will be visible next to each site name and at the top of individual Lecture Recording sites. Email notifications will be sent ahead of expiration, reminding you to review your Lecture Recordings. Your options for these sites are:
- Take no action; the site will expire automatically when it reaches the Expiration Date.
- Download a copy of individual Lecture Recordings to your personal storage.
- Export selected Lecture Recordings to a cloud storage option, like Google Drive or MiVideo.
- Request a temporary extension to maintain access to the site beyond the expiration date.
