Over the Fall 2015 term, students using CAEN computer labs experienced long launch times for a select number of applications served from the Application Jukebox, including:
- Aspen Engineering Suite
- ArcGIS
- Autodesk (AutoCAD)
- Materials Studio
- STK
- SolidWorks
- Teamcenter
We have since deployed several fixes to address each application on the above list. Our goal is make sure launch times for all applications are less than one minute. Although we believe the problem is mostly fixed for the above applications, we have found some individual computers that are still experiencing longer than ideal launch times. When we identify such a computer, the fix at this time is to reload the software environment completely, which brings the launch times back to what we expect.
