Attention College of Engineering Faculty and Staff:
The location where your files are stored (your home directory) when using a CAEN Engineering Base Desktop (EBD) computer, will be migrated to a new storage system at 11:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024.
While this migration is taking place, we recommend you do not use your computer for approximately 45 minutes (from 10:45 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.). We also recommend you reboot your computer sometime after 11:30 p.m. (or before you start using it the next day).
- Any files you change 24-48 hours prior to the migration may not be immediately available afterward due to the syncing process. However, we anticipate they will all sync by the end of the weekend. No files will be lost in the migration.
- Only the latest versions of your files will be migrated. No previous versions will be copied. Following the migration, if you need a previous version of a file from before May 10, 2024, submit a request to [email protected] asking the ITS Storage Team to assist you with recovering a file from engin-storage.
- This migration will not impact files accessed via the student home directory storage space on CAEN Lab computers (engin-labs). Those files will be migrated at a later date.
