GFL 224 has re-opened as both a College of Engineering 50-seat flexible classroom and a CAEN collaborative-style lab. The 12 collaborative stations can be used when the facility is not reserved for classroom use.

Due to positive student feedback, CAEN is adding ten more 34” curved LED monitors (Samsung model S34E790C) on computers in the Duderstadt Center and Beyster 1695. These monitors offer more screen real estate with a resolution of 3440×1440 (QHD).

The CAEN lab in the Gorguze Family Laboratory (GFL) room 224 reopened on Friday, December 2. This student computer lab has been closed since July 2016 to undergo room and technology renovations, and features a new layout geared toward College of Engineering (CoE) group-based learning and instruction.

The system for reserving CAEN collaborative stations has expanded to include all collaborative stations installed in CAEN computer labs. This includes the collaborative stations in Beyster 1695, G.G. Brown 2570, GFL 224, and the newly installed stations in EECS 1222. Additional stations in the Duderstadt Center will be coming later this term.
EECS 1222, located right off the EECS Atrium, is a newly renovated space open to all students on a first-come, first-served basis, or with an advance reservation. It is equipped with two reservable CAEN collaborative workspaces, and a small study area.
The CAEN computer lab in G.G. Brown 2304 was permanently closed on December 21, 2015. A new lab located in G.G Brown 2517 has taken its place.

The new reservation system will be piloted on a subset of the collaborative stations during the Fall 2015 term, with a full roll-out planned to all collaborative stations for the Winter 2016 term.
