CAEN computer lab updates and changes for Winter 2020
LBME 1310
The reservable CAEN computer lab located in LBME 1310 was permanently closed on December 16, 2019 for a BME department remodeling project named BME Design Spaces. A CAEN computer lab will not be part of the newly remodeled space, however there will be CAEN computing lab resources within the space.

CoE student supplemental printing allocation ending after Summer 2020
Eligible students will continue to receive a $10 College of Engineering supplemental printing allocation for the Winter 2020 and Spring/Summer 2020 terms. As with previous terms, this is in addition to the standard ITS printing allocation provided to all U-M students, which is currently unchanged at $24 per term.

Locations of CAEN Labs with the newest computers
Approximately 250 new HP Z2 computers were installed in CAEN computer labs and learning centers over the Summer. These computers are configured with additional memory, better graphics, and a more powerful CPU:

- RAM: 32 GB (2×16 GB) DDR4 2666 UDIMM NECC

EECS 1230 has been moved to EECS 2420
In order to create a new first floor classroom in the EECS Atrium, the CAEN Lab formerly located in EECS 1230 has been relocated to EECS 2420.

New 38” large format LED monitors now available in the Duderstadt Center and the FXB CAEN Lab
Fifty-six (56) HP Z38c 38” LED monitors, the largest individual displays installed to date, have been deployed in the Duderstadt Center (third floor South West and East Alcove) and the CAEN computer lab in FXB B085. The monitor’s native resolution is 3840×1600.
Shapiro CAEN Lab to be renovated and expanded over Spring Break
The CAEN Lab in Shapiro B000 will undergo renovations, and be closed from February 25 until March 11, 2019. Most of the renovations are being scheduled during Spring Break to minimize disruption. Changes to the EECS 4440 & Duderstadt Center computer labs
There have been some changes to two popular CAEN student computer labs this year.
The newly renovated EECS 4440 computer lab is now a multi-use facility. It is a 36-seat flexible active learning classroom, that features five multi-seat collaborative stations with CAEN computers. The collaborative stations are available for drop-in use by students when the Continue Reading »
