LBME 1310
The reservable CAEN computer lab located in LBME 1310 was permanently closed on December 16, 2019 for a BME department remodeling project named BME Design Spaces. A CAEN computer lab will not be part of the newly remodeled space, however there will be CAEN computing lab resources within the space.

This is a reminder that starting January 29, 2020, Duo will be required by the University for every U-M student on the Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint campuses. The College of Engineering cost shares a shared pool of COMSOL Multiphysics licenses for research use, administered by CAEN. Approximately 250 new HP Z2 computers were installed in CAEN computer labs and learning centers over the Summer. These computers are configured with additional memory, better graphics, and a more powerful CPU:
This Fall, CAEN will introduce Extended Reality (XR) tools for student, faculty and staff use. At the Duderstadt Center Visualization Lab, and other select classrooms and CAEN labs, XR capable hardware is being installed to allow exploration of the technology.

EECS 1230 has been moved to EECS 2420
In order to create a new first floor classroom in the EECS Atrium, the CAEN Lab formerly located in EECS 1230 has been relocated to EECS 2420.

Over the summer, CAEN upgraded all the computers in the Duderstadt Center, CAEN computer labs, and the remote access services to new versions of Microsoft Windows 10 1809 Enterprise and Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 7.7.
All CLSE systems remain dual-boot Windows and Linux for 2019.
