Auto Framing cameras being piloted in select CoE classrooms

Beginning in the fall 2024 term, new cameras capable of automatically following the instructor will be featured in a subset of classrooms. These cameras will default to the new Auto Framing behavior and can be used with Zoom or Lecture Recording.

When in Auto Framing mode, the camera will look for a person at the front of the classroom, and zoom, pan and tilt as necessary to keep them in frame. If the person walks beyond the camera’s viewable range or turns their back to the camera for a period of time, the camera will zoom out and try to find another person to follow.

You can manually disengage Auto Framing mode during a recording by operating the zoom, pan, or tilt manual controls on the touch panel. If you prefer all your future recordings to use manual camera control, follow the instructions to save a new default for your recordings, or contact [email protected] for assistance.
