U-M Information and Technology Services (ITS) is updating its account recovery process beginning April 13. It is crucial that you have your account recovery information set up to ensure you can restore your account access in the event that you forget your password.
Set up your account recovery information
If you have not set up account recovery information, you will be prompted to add account recovery details when logging in via U-M Weblogin (see screenshot below). Simply add a phone number and/or email address where indicated. Adding this information will allow for quick and secure access to your account through the self-service recovery feature. (If you have already provided your account recovery details, you will not receive this prompt before logging in.)
Why adding your account recovery information by April 13 is important
- Currently, when accessing Weblogin, users who have not added account recovery information can defer this step by selecting “I will add in future.” This option will be removed starting April 13, 2025.
- After April 13, users who have not previously entered account recovery information will be required to do so the next time they access Weblogin.
Note: After you add your account recovery information, you can view or edit it. Go to the UMICH Account Management web page and click the Update Account Recovery Info icon.
